Cycloptère
Steam-powered amphibious torpedo vehicle 1867.

The Cycloptère was built in haste and with ridiculously small means, during the siege of the town of Azendha in 1867, in order to stop the maritime blockage. Armed with a spar torpedo, it succeeded in severly damaging the Pegasus battleship, thus allowing the evacuation of the town.

Scale model, half-hull representing the part of the hull which is emerged (measurements 50x63x30 cm).
